Melbourne 2015 (Day 7)

17 Feb'15

On our way to The Hardware Societe we saw this pretty store, La Belle Miette. They are specialising in macarons and they're famous for it, so my sister told me to try, but since I'm not fond of macarons I passed.

1st stop: The Hardware Société

Toast By Noisette w/ French Spreads - $6.5 (choose from: baguette, raisin brioche, fruit sourdough or a warm croissant)
The sourdough was served warm. I like it since the sourdough wasn't that sour compare to the one I had before at another place. For the spreads, I saw that they have fig, blueberry, raspberry, 4 berries, chesnut, salted caramel. They also provide butter.

Baked Eggs (Deux) - $18

I ordered their Baked Eggs (Deux) - chorizo sausage, potato piquillo peppers, queso mahon, toasted almonds, and alioli. Like it so much! It was not overwhelming and so tasty. Recommended! Definitely much better than the one I had in Jakarta.

Soy Chocolate Latte - $5

2nd stop: Le Petit Gateau

How I love open kitchen! You can just sit and see what is going on in the kitchen.

Special ($9.3)
Don't know the name of the cake, the tag said it was special (special base, topped with several special toppings, finished with a special garnish). Lol! But the staff told us that the layers are white chocolate mousse, apricot jelly, apricot cream and pistachio sponge. Love it!

Latte ($3.9)
3rd stop: State Library of Victoria

City Circle (Free Tourist Tram)

What a beautiful library! *-*
There also The Changing Face of Victoria and Mirror of The World: Books and Ideas exhibition.

- The Changing Face of Victoria -

"Discover the people, places and events that have shaped Victoria. Read moving accounts from Australians during World War One, discover what Coles looked like 100 years ago, and delight in treasures cartoonist Kaz Cooke has uncovered in the Library’s realia collection."

- Mirror of The World: Books and Ideas -

"Discover stunning artwork alongside powerful words in this visual feast for book-lovers. Highlights include the exceptional art of La fin du monde (1919), illustrated by French Modernist Fernand Léger, and the intricate life-sized drawings in Birds of America (early 19th century), one of the Library’s most precious books."

4th stop: Shrine of Remembrance

5th stop: Menya Ramen

Their dishes are affordable and the portion is huge. We tried their Gyu Tan Don (ox tongue) and Teriyaki Beef Don.

Gyu Tan Don ($13.7)
Teriyaki Beef Don ($9.2)
The Gyu Tan was spicy, chewy and tasty. I didn't really like gyu tan since I found it was quite scary to eat a tongue. But their seasoning was so good, couldn't stop eating the hot rice with it. The beef teriyaki was too sweet for my liking, but it was quite good also. And because of the big portion, I could only ate half of it. So I asked for a plastic container to take away the remaining, and the container was full like one serving of food. :o

Then we went back to our hotel, grabbed our luggage and wait for SkyBus to pick us up.
